Review of a Life Changing Book "Pathorchap"

ছাপ নামটা থেকেই কেমন যেন ইতিহাস ইতিহাস গন্ধ পাওয়া যায়। হ্যাঁ ইতিহাস ই বটে ,একটা ছোট্ট ছেলের ইতিহাস গড়ার কাহিনী।

আমরা অটোবায়োগ্রাফি কথাটির সাথে অতি পরিচিত। নানান নামিদামী মানুষের অটোবায়োগ্রাফি আমরা আগেই পড়েছি অনেকেই। তেমনই খ্যাতনামা শিল্পী অতীন বসাকের অটোবায়োগ্রাফি হলো "পাথরছাপ" । অনুষা পাবলিকেশনের শুক্তিদির হাত ধরেই এই অমূল্য উপহারটি আমরা বই আকারে পেয়েছি। তবে আর পাঁচটা অটোবায়োগ্রাফি এর মতো হলেও এটা কোথায় যেন একটু আলাদা স্বাদের। আর সেই আলাদা স্বাদের ছোঁয়া দিতেই আজ আমি আমার পাঠকদের সাথে ভাগ করে নেব এই বই পড়ার অনুভূতি।

"অতীন বসাক" চিত্রশিল্প প্রেমীদের কাছে খুব পছন্দের একটা নাম।এতদিন আমরা আজকের নবীনরা শিল্পের আকাশে তাঁকে দূরের তারা হিসাবেই দেখে এসেছি। কখনো বা তাঁকে দূর থেকে জ্বলজ্বল করতে দেখে মনে হয়েছে যদি আমরাও এভাবে পৌঁছতে পারি.........

কিন্তু ঘরের ছেলেটার তারা হয়ে ওঠার কাহিনী যে আজকের নবীনদের মনে সত্যি সাহস যোগানোরই মতো। "পাথরছাপ " হলো বাস্তবের মাটি থেকে ওই স্বপ্নের আকাশে পৌঁছানোর সিঁড়ি। শুধু তাই নয় দূর আকাশের তারা এই মাধ্যমে যেন আমাদের ঘরের মানুষ হয়ে উঠেছেন। তাঁর ছবির মাধ্যমে বিদেশীরাও আমাদের দেশকে চিনেছেন। বিদেশের মাটিতে কখনো শিল্পী হিসাবে কখনো শিক্ষক হিসাবে তিনি ভারতীয়দের নাম খোদাই করে এসেছেন।লেখক হিসাবে এই প্রথম তাঁর আত্মপ্রকাশ হলেও মানুষের হৃদয়ে তাঁর পাথরছাপ তৈরী করার আরেক অন্যতম উপায়।

একজন মানুষের বেড়ে ওঠার গল্প, পুরনো কলকাতাকে চেনা, সেই সময়ের সমাজের পরিবর্তন, চারপাশের মানুষের নানা গল্প, জীবনের ক্রমাগত উত্থানপতন এই বইয়ের মূল উপজীব্য।

তবে কি অতীন স্যার এই বইতে শুধুই নিজের জীবনের ওঠাপরা গুলোকেই দেখিয়েছেন ?তা তো নয় তিনি প্রমান করেছেন তিনি সুযোগ্য শিক্ষক। তিনি তাঁর জীবনের গল্প বলতে বলতেই মানুষের জীবনের পাঠ পড়িয়েছেন , একটা সাধারণ ঘরের ছেলেকে স্বপ্ন দেখতে শিখিয়েছেন।সাধারণ বাংলা মিডিয়ামের ছাত্রদের বুঝিয়েছেন চাইলেই বিশ্বজয় করা যায়।

বইটি পড়লে বোঝা যাবে কি অদ্ভুদ ভাবে জীবনকে অধ্যায়ে ভাগ করা যায়,জীবনের টানাপোড়েনকে উপেক্ষা করে এগিয়ে চলা যায়।

২৫০ পাতার একটি বই মাত্র ২৫০ টাকায় একটা মানুষের জীবন পরিবর্তন করে দিতে পারে। শুধু চিত্র শিল্পের সাথে যুক্ত মানুষেরাই নয় সাধারণ মানুষের অসাধারণ হয়ে ওঠার ইচ্ছা থাকলে এই বইটি পড়া একান্ত বাঞ্চনীয়।

We are very familiar with the word autobiography. Many of us have already read the autobiographies of various famous people. The autobiography of the famous artist Atin Basak is " Patharchap”. We have received this priceless gift in book form with the help of Shukti di of Anusha Publications. But like the other autobiographies, it tastes a little different. Today I will share with my readers the feeling of reading this book.

"Atin Basak" is a very popular name among the art lovers. We, the newcomers of today, have seen him as a distant star in the sky of art. Ever or seeing him shining from a distance, it seemed that we too could reach this path…..

But the story of the boy of the house becoming a star is like giving real courage to the minds of today's youngsters. “Patharchap” is the ladder to reach the sky of that dream from the ground of reality. Not only that, the stars in the distant sky have become the people of our house through this. Foreigners have also come to know our country through his pictures. He has engraved the names of Indians on foreign , sometimes as an artist and sometimes as a teacher. Although this is his first appearance as a writer, it is another way to make a mark in the hearts of people. The story of a man growing up, getting to know old Calcutta, the changes of the society of that time, the various stories of the people around him, the continuous ups and downs of life are the mainstays of this book.

But did Atin Sir show only the ups and downs of his life in this book? Not only that, he has proved that he is a mind-blowing teacher. He taught the story of human life by telling the story of his life, Taught the boy of an ordinary house to dream. He explained to the students of ordinary Bengali medium that world conquest can be achieved if they want.

Reading the book, one can understand how life can be divided into chapters in a strange way.
